History
ARTDOCS is a medical program designed to assist artists without health insurance. Dr. Vincent Morelli and artist/gallery owner Jonathan Ferrara founded ARTDOCS in June of 1999 to address a critical need in the New Orleans arts community: struggling visual artists, writers and performing artists needing both routine and emergency healthcare who do not have the means to afford even basic healthcare services or insurance. ARTDOCS has given the members of the New Orleans creative community a place to turn to address their often-overlooked medical concerns. ARTDOCS is one of the first programs of its kind in the country.
