How to get care

To schedule an appointment, call our main administrative number at 504-827-2833. Amanda will take your name and phone number to forward to the appropriate physician. She will then give you the phone number of the clinic most convenient to you. Patients can usually (but not always) be seen within a few days. When contacting the clinic, you must identify yourself as an ARTDOCS patient over the phone to insure that you see one of our participating physicians. At the time of the visit, you will be asked to sign a financial waiver indicating your eligibility for the program (see attachment). If your physician suggests and schedules a follow-up visit, you need not call our main number again. If, however, in the future, you develop another medical problem, it will be necessary to call us again at 504-827-2833. This scheduling system is in place due to the limited number of patients that we can serve per week.

What is covered at the visit

Although our family physicians can handle almost all of your medical needs, we do have physician specialists (eg, cardiologists, rheumatologists, dermatologists) who participate in our program. These specialists offer their services (excluding diagnostic testing and lab work) either for free or at a discount. ARTDOCS is also able to refer you to the Charity healthcare system at reduced rates. Such referrals are coordinated only through your ARTDOCS family physician.
